Take Action

Let Council know that we want to keep the green space in our community.

How can I help?

Complete Council’s online form.

Council is taking submissions via an online form until 5pm on May 23.

Fill in the survey and let them know that you appreciate the Heads having open space, trees and wildlife. Once we sell off our green space it’s gone for good.

Contact your councillors.

Shoalhaven Heads is in Ward 1 of Shoalhaven City Council, and we are represented by four councillors (as well as the mayor.)

You can find their contact details on the Mayor and Councillors page of the Council website.

Calling them or sending them an email will let them know that you value green space in the Heads. Let them know your query is in relation to the investigation of Lot 35 Golden Hill Avenue as part of the council’s Property Sale Program.

Send Council an email.

You can also contact council directly by emailing council@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.

Tell them that you want to voice your opposition to the selling of Lot 35 Golden Hill Avenue as part of the Council’s Property Sale Program.

Tell them how you use the reserve (maybe you walk your dog in it, maybe you just like the views and the bird sounds, maybe you just want to keep the Heads green) and what negative impact you would experience if we were to lose it.

Call the Council.

You can also contact Joe O’Connor, council’s Strategic Property Manager, by ringing Shoalhaven Council on 1300 293 111.

Let them know you’re calling about Lot 35 Golden Hill Avenue being considered for sale as part of the Council’s Property Sale Program.

The survey is a bit tricky to navigate, so here’s a step by step guide.

  1. Open the Council Survey

  2. Fill in your name, email address and suburb of residence. Phone number is optional.

  3. Scroll to the bottom and hit the Next button.

  4. Keep clicking Next until you find the header that says “Of the land identified for sale pending rezoning and/or reclassification, please select the property your comments relate to.”

  5. Look for the line item Lot 35 Golden Hill Avenue, Shoalhaven Heads.

  6. Click the Select Option dropdown, and select I want to give feedback.

  7. Choose the ways that you are currently using the land.

  8. Add a comment explaining how sale of the land would impact you.

  9. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click Submit.

Need help with the survey?

Not sure what to say?

Council wants to hear what the impact would be on the community and the surrounding areas if the properties listed were to be re-zoned and sold for development.

You might have your own reasons for wanting to keep the Heads green, but if you’d like some ideas I’ve written down a few of my own.
